Advanced Rigging, level 2
The module where you tackle the rigs that make a portfolio stand out: hybrid transformations, mechanical systems, organic wings and vehicles. This is the playground of big productions, and the most telling demonstration of your technical level to a recruiter.
For eight weeks, you are individually mentored by professional feature-film riggers. You build mixed organic and mechanical setups, always thinking about the comfort of the animator who will use your rigs.
Module goal
Design complex hybrid, mechanical and organic rigs with automation designed to make the animator’s work easier, up to post-production rigging on an already finalized rig.
What you will cover
You build a hybrid « Transformer » rig (a hand turning into a tentacle), managing the transition between automation and manual control for the animator. You tackle mechanical rigging (pistons, cables, crane articulations), advanced organic rigging (a mixed organic and mechanical wing, automatic feather management, multi-layer structure) and vehicle rigging (AutoRoll, suspensions, curve attachment). You finish with post-production rigging, attaching an offset layer (facial stickies) to an already delivered rig.
Advanced Rigging LvL 1 is strongly recommended before this module
