Python for rigging, level 2
The culmination of the program. You bring together everything you have learned to design a complete tool, the AutoRibbon, from concept to deployment in real conditions. This module reproduces the full life cycle of a studio tool: specifications, prototype, successive versions, testing, fixes and release to production.
For eight weeks, you are individually mentored by feature-film professionals. You are not producing an exercise, but a finished, deployable tool, the centerpiece of a TD portfolio.
Module goal
Design, develop and deploy a complete rigging tool (AutoRibbon) in Python and PySide, from specifications to use in real conditions, through an iterative cycle of testing and fixes.
What you will cover
After a refresher on class structure, you define your tool’s complete specifications (core and UI) and prototype its skeleton. You develop a first class-based version, which you put through a cycle of testing and user experience feedback. You then iterate to a version 2 (bug fixes, new features, optimization) before deploying the tool in real conditions and reviewing its development.
What you will get
An experience close to a real feature-film production.
Live sessions with a working mentor, in small groups.
Shots tailored to what recruiters expect.
A certificate of completion for professional training.
Guided by a feature-film professional
