Jonathan Philippon
Supervisor Character Animator 3D · Mikros
Character animation is the art of giving each movement a soul and an intention. Jonathan has been practicing it for nearly twenty years, across every corner of the craft.
A character and creature animator, equally at ease in keyframe and motion capture, he has animated on a long list of international feature films: The Star, Captain Underpants, The Wild Life and Samurai Academy, for major studios such as Cinesite, MPC, Mikros and nWave.
Beyond pure animation, he has held Animation Lead positions on several productions, managing teams and ensuring the consistency of an entire film’s acting. Working with Jonathan means learning from someone who knows the craft from both sides: the animator who sets every key, and the lead who thinks a sequence as a whole. He passes on the sense of acting, the reading of weight and movement, and the standard of fluidity that separates a good shot from a memorable one.
