After body mechanics, Pantomime is the stage where your character truly starts to exist. It is no longer just about moving accurately, but about conveying an intention and an emotion without a single word. It is the skill that separates a technical animator from an animator who tells a story, and it is precisely what a recruiter looks for in a demo reel.
For twelve weeks, you are individually mentored by professional feature-film animators. You work from your own filmed references and learn to build a shot that holds up narratively, from the brief to the final render. Each exercise is designed as a genuine demo reel piece.
*To guarantee quality individual follow-up, our classes are limited to 6 students and seats are reserved in priority for full-year programs. When a class is not full, we open the modules individually, on demand.
What you will cover
Two exercises
1. « A simple action, a complex emotion »
Bringing a rich emotion out of an ordinary action. You learn to set up an animation brief, shoot and analyze your own reference videos, import them into Maya and anticipate a shot’s challenges before diving in.
2. « Tell a story without words »
A shot that tells a story through body language alone. You work through blocking then animation, apply a defined animation style, and bring the character to life through keep-alives, eye direction and emotions expressed through the body.
